Al-Rahmah Mosque or Fatima Al-Zahra Mosque is a mosque in Jeddah, Mecca Province, Saudi Arabia. The mosque was established in 1985. The mosque covering an area of 2,400 m2 consists of one main dome and 52 outer domes, 23 external umbrellas and 56 windows designed in Islamic style. This beautiful white mosque also known as floating mosque seems to emerge from the sea. It appears to be floating as it is built on pillars.
The mosque is visited by millions every year and is one of the most popular attractions of the city of Jeddah. Masjid Al Rahma uses a mix of traditional architecture and modern technology, and is equipped with all the necessary facilities (prayer area, wudhu facilities, etc). Those visiting the mosque should take a walk along Corniche Road to really appreciate the beauty of the mosque, especially at sunrise or sunset. Those who are lucky enough to visit the mosque during high tide will be able to really enjoy magnificent views of the mosque, as during this time the mosque literally looks like it is floating.
