2025 King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival kicks off in Malham

The 2025 King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival began Thursday at the Saudi Falcons Club in Malham, north of Riyadh, attracting falconers from across the Kingdom and worldwide. Running until January 10, the festival opened with six qualifying heats for local competitors in categories including Gyr Pure Fledgling and Passage, Peregrine, and Saker (Farkh and Qarnas). Competitors will contest 139 rounds for 1,012 prizes worth over SR38 million ($10 million).
Events include 400-meter Milwah lure racing and Mazayen beauty contests, with races divided into owners, amateurs, professionals, and elite levels. Participants hail from nine countries, and the festival holds three Guinness World Records for the largest global falconry event by bird participation.
