AlUla has reinforced its position as a leading global destination after being named the World’s Leading Cultural Tourism Project 2025 at the World Travel Awards. The distinction—one of the industry’s top honors—was awarded based on votes from international experts, executives, buyers, tour operators, and agents, according to the Saudi Press Agency. The World Travel Awards, founded in 1993, recognize excellence across tourism and hospitality.
The win adds to AlUla’s recent regional titles, including the Middle East’s Leading Cultural Tourism Project 2025, Middle East’s Leading Festival and Event Destination 2025, and Saudi Arabia’s Leading Cultural Tourism Project 2025. Known for its dramatic desert landscapes and rich heritage, AlUla is home to significant sites such as Hegra, the country’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, famed for its well-preserved Nabataean tombs.
