On Wednesday, the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) said that Saudi Arabia's climate projections for the summer of 2025 show that temperatures in a number of the Kingdom's provinces will be 1.2 degrees Celsius warmer than normal in August.
"Probable forecasts show that average surface temperatures will be above average across most regions of the Kingdom during the summer of 2025," the NCM noted. It is anticipated that the regions of Riyadh, Qassim, Hail, the Eastern Province, and the Northern Borders would have an increase of almost 1 degree Celsius, while the remaining regions will experience an increase of less than 1 degree Celsius.
It further stated that throughout August, the Eastern Province, Hail, Qassim, Tabuk, and portions of Al-Jouf will experience the most increase over usual, which will be 1.2 degrees Celsius.
The center predicts that rainfall in the majority of the Kingdom will be about average. The areas of Jazan, Al-Baha, Najran, and Asir, as well as portions of Madinah, Makkah, and the southwest of the Kingdom, are predicted to have above-normal rainfall in July and August.
Rainfall in Riyadh and the surrounding areas is predicted to be about average, according to the NCM.
