Deadline announced to correct status of Domestic Workers (Huroob) absence from work

The Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has announced that, after six months, house drivers in Saudi Arabia will be able to alter their status without the consent of their prior sponsor. Many foreign nationals whose employers have documented that they have fled their jobs would profit from the decision.

A hurub is when a sponsor reports to the Department of Labor that their employee has gone missing and that they are not responsible for him. As a result, the employee is unable to depart Saudi Arabia. They can then pass through deportation and prison facilities to return home. Additionally, this will lead to a temporary prohibition on entering Saudi Arabia. Numerous sponsors have complained to the government about their mishandling of Hurub. Therefore, everyone in Hurub is able to benefit from the currently stated opportunity. They have six months from today, May 11th, to modify their Hurub status. By locating new sponsors, the sponsorship should be modified via the Musanid platform. The procedures for this can be finished by the new sponsor. The employee just needs to react favorably to the message he receives as a result. Many people, particularly Malayalis, will gain from the recent declaration.
