Saudi Arabia’s first luxury train, The Dream of the Desert, was unveiled in Riyadh on Monday during the Future Investment Initiative (FII) conference — a global summit of leaders, innovators, and economists exploring new frontiers of growth.
A collaboration between the Ministry of Culture, Saudi Arabia Railways, and Italian luxury firm Arsenale, the train blends Saudi heritage with contemporary elegance, designed by Lebanese architect Aline Asmar d’Amman.
Set for its maiden journey in late 2026, the train will travel over 800 miles from Riyadh, stopping at handpicked destinations that showcase the Kingdom’s landscapes and culture. Guests can choose one- or two-night itineraries, offering an exclusive glimpse of Saudi Arabia’s hidden beauty.
Inside, earthy desert tones, Murano glass lighting, intricate woodwork, and woven textiles evoke a refined Arabian ambiance. The train features 33 private suites for 66 guests, a Majlis-style lounge, and a fine-dining restaurant with Michelin-level menus curated by top chefs.
Founded in 2020, Arsenale is an Italian luxury hospitality group behind collaborations with Soho House and Orient Express, now bringing its craftsmanship to the sands of Saudi Arabia.
