The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has announced that mandatory electronic salary transfers for all domestic workers came into effect on Thursday, January 1.
Under the decision, employers must pay wages through the Musaned platform using approved banks or digital wallets, ensuring proper documentation of payments. The ministry said the move strengthens the protection of domestic workers’ wage rights and improves transparency in employment relationships.
This marks the fifth and final phase of the wage transfer system and now applies to all employers without exception. The initiative is part of wider efforts to regulate the labor market and supports Saudi Vision 2030 goals of efficiency, fairness, and a better work environment.
