Fifth edition of Noor Riyadh lights up the city with metro-accessible installations

The fifth edition of Noor Riyadh, the city’s festival of light and art, opened on Thursday with a new feature: full integration into the Riyadh Metro for easier access and viewing.

With the metro launched in December 2024, passengers can now ride through or stop to explore 60 light installations created by 59 artists from 24 countries. The festival runs until December 6.

The artworks are displayed across six key sites: Qasr Al-Hokm District, King Abdulaziz Historical Center, stc Metro Station, KAFD Metro Station, Al-Faisaliah Tower, and the Riyadh Art Space in JAX District. 

Now a signature event for the capital, the festival attracts millions annually to enjoy its glowing installations beneath cool evenings and open skies. In addition to the citywide displays, Noor Riyadh also features a public program of workshops, community activities, and panel discussions.
