“First House” exhibition launched during Hajj season

The "First House" exhibition was opened by the General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque during Hajj season 1446H. The opportunity to study the history of the Kaaba from the time of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham), peace be upon him, to the present will be unique for pilgrims and tourists.

During the Hajj season, the exhibition is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and is situated in the Grand Mosque's Third Saudi Expansion, right across from Gate 100 (King Abdullah Gate). The exhibition highlights important topics like the building of the Kaaba, the alterations it has experienced over time, the instruments used for cleaning and maintenance, the steps involved in making the Kiswa (cloth covering), and its architectural features through immersive displays and interactive technologies.

The history and significance of the sacred building are explained in detail by visitors through the use of digital touchscreens, motion graphics, historical objects, and visual presentations.
