Hail set a new Guinness World Record over the weekend by hosting the largest-ever off-road production car convoy, with 501 vehicles surpassing the previous record of 449 in Australia. The convoy drove through the dunes of Tuwaren, 42 km northwest of Hail, surrounded by the Aja Mountains, attracting participants from across Saudi Arabia, the Gulf, and other Arab countries.
The 7 km desert trail welcomed both experienced drivers and newcomers, with cultural and entertainment activities enhancing the experience. Prince Abdulaziz bin Saad bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Hail Province, praised the youth for their role, while Omar Al-Abdul-Jabbar, CEO of the Hail Region Development Authority, highlighted the achievement as a national milestone that strengthens Hail’s position as a top desert adventure and tourism destination.
The event was organized by the Saudi Tourism Authority and Hail Region Development Authority, with support from the King Salman Royal Reserve Development Authority and Culture House.
