
Farmers will display over 60 types of local mangoes and other tropical fruits at Jazan's 21st annual Mango and Tropical Fruits Festival, which will open at Sabya Front on Wednesday.
Beginning in May 2005, the Mango and Tropical Fruits Festival is the oldest agricultural festival in the region. It is organized by the local MEWA chapter in collaboration with Sabya, a Jazan region subdivision, and other partners.
According to Estidamah, the National Center for Research and Development of Sustainable Agriculture, Jazan has achieved significant strides in the production of tropical fruits and mangoes. In the center's study areas, over 70 types of mangoes other tropical fruits, such as guava, papaya, pineapple, and banana, have been grown and assessed.
