King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) achieved a historic milestone in 2025 by handling 50 million passengers in a single year, the highest annual passenger volume ever recorded at any Saudi airport since the Kingdom’s aviation sector began. The achievement places KAIA among the world’s mega airports, a category reserved for the busiest global aviation hubs, and underscores its rapid rise as a major regional and international gateway.
Jeddah Airports Company marked the occasion by welcoming the 50-millionth passenger, a French traveler arriving from Paris on a Saudia flight to attend a sporting event in Jeddah, who was received by airport officials and given a commemorative gift. Since taking over operations in 2022, the company has advanced the National Aviation Strategy by focusing on expansion, efficiency, and improved passenger experience, further strengthening KAIA’s status as a key gateway to Saudi Arabia.
