The Madinah region continues to play a significant role in Saudi Arabia’s date industry, producing around 344,000 tons of dates annually. The region ranks third nationwide in date production, contributing substantially to local economic growth and the advancement of the agricultural sector.
Madinah accounts for approximately 18 percent of the Kingdom’s total date production. The region also produces about 4,600 tons of organic dates each year, highlighting the increasing adoption of sustainable farming methods and growing demand for organic agricultural products.
As one of the region’s most important agricultural commodities, dates support the livelihoods of farmers, boost commercial activity, and drive the growth of related industries, supply chains, and marketing networks. These efforts align with Saudi Arabia’s broader goals of agricultural development and enhanced food security.
