
In Saudi Arabia, more people are taking rides via online taxi applications. 32 million journeys are thought to have been made with online riding apps. Riyadh was where the most trips were finished.The data is based on the April–June timeframe. The Transport General Authority published the numbers.
When compared to the previous year, the number of journeys has increased by 104%. The statistics also show that the number of taxi and ride-hailing applications has increased. The rise is 87%. At the moment, 15,300 platforms offer this service. There are also around 2,63,000 drivers employed in the industry.
With 41% of all trips made via apps, Riyadh is the most popular destination. Makkah, the Eastern Province, Asir, and Medina are next in line. In order to develop services in the industry, a number of projects have been put into action. In order to identify unapproved services, inspections are also being stepped up.
