The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) announced that Riyadh Metro's gradual deployment will conclude on Sunday, January 5, with the start of operations on the Orange Line. By this point, all six lines of the Riyadh Metro will be operational.
Line 3 (Orange Line), which covers Madinah Road, would connect Riyadh's east and west, extending 41 kilometers from Jeddah Road in the west to the second eastern ring road near to the Khashm Al-Aan area in the east.
This marks the conclusion of the progressive operation of the Riyadh Metro network's six lines, as declared when the project was launched by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman on November 27, 2024.
According to the RCRC, passengers will be greeted on the Orange Line at the following five stations at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday: Jeddah Road Station, Tuwaiq Station, Douh Station, Harun Al-Rashid Road Station, and Al-Naseem Station, which serves as a transfer station between the Orange Line and the Purple Line.
The commission also announced the opening of three new stations on the Blue Line that connects Olaya Street to Batha: Al-Morooj Station, Bank Al-Bilad Station, and King Fahd Library Station.
The first (Blue Line), fourth (Yellow Line), and sixth (Purple Line) lines began operations in the inaugural phase on December 1. On December 15, two additional lines, Line 2 (Red Line) and Line 5 (Green Line), went into service as part of the second phase.
The functioning of all six lines of the Riyadh Metro network will help to improve connections between different regions of the city and make mobility easier for residents and visitors. Riyadh Metro customers will be welcomed from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
