Red Sea International Film Festival has opened its submissions portal for its fifth edition

The fifth edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival, which will take place in Jeddah's historic Al-Balad quarter from December 4–13, has launched its submissions page.

Filmmakers from Asia, Africa, and the Arab world, including Saudi Arabia, have until August 17 to enter.

Entries are free before July 7. After that, there will be a cost of SR100 ($26) for short films and SR200 for feature films.

Three categories are available for submissions: New Saudi/New Cinema, Red Sea Shorts Competition, and Red Sea Competition.

Films under 60 minutes with an emphasis on unique narrative are featured in the Shorts Competition.

With an emphasis on up-and-coming local talent, the New Saudi/New Cinema area provides a forum for fresh perspectives in the Kingdom's quickly expanding film industry.

The Red Sea Competition showcases exceptional narrative, documentary, and animated works from Asia, Africa, and the Arab globe.

This year, a number of films will compete for the coveted Yusr Awards, including the $100,000 Golden Yusr for Best Feature Film. The Golden Yusr for Best Short Film, the Jury Prize, and Best Director are further honors.
