Visa restrictions for family visits to Saudi Arabia prior to the Hajj. From now until June 6, the Jawazat department has begun informing people that admission into Saudi Arabia will not be possible with a visiting visa. Jeddah Airport used to merely have a limitation on entry. JAWASAT, a division of the Ministry of Home Affairs, has begun sending messages to expatriates since this morning. It adds that the limitations are in effect prior to the Hajj. The airlines haven't been given any instructions on this yet, though.Although land travel across the border is not currently restricted, this is a sign that limits may soon be implemented.
People with visitor visas who have left Saudi Arabia should return as soon as possible given the current circumstances.
Saudi Arabia is taking a unique approach to Hajj preparations this year. Mecca, including the Haram, is less crowded now that the severe restrictions have been implemented. Numerous individuals who attempted to enter Mecca with visitor permits are still being detained. Due to the intense heat, several pilgrims who completed the Hajj illegally perished last year. Temporary barriers follow, such as the need to stamp visas for different nations. To the relief of expatriates, the revised communication also includes the date of June 6.
No date has been attached to any of the visit visa limitation notices thus far. The communications make no mention of restrictions on other kinds of visas.
