Riyadh Metro carried more than 25 million passengers in the first quarter of 2025

According to a report published by the Transport General Authority (TGA), the Riyadh Metro topped the list of Saudi Arabia's city-based rail networks with more than 25 million passengers in the first quarter of 2025.

Over 32.3 million people traveled through the Kingdom's urban rail networks in the first three months of this year, according to the data.

After Riyadh Metro, more than 6 million people used the Automated Rail Transit (ART) system at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, and more than 900,000 used the ART at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University in Riyadh. Over 35 million people used Saudi Arabia's rail system overall in Q1 2025, which was a significant turning point in the nation's transportation revolution.

Over 190 trains and 452 cars are operated by the network. Along its routes, there are also 19 public parking lots, each of which can accommodate 400–600 cars.
