Among the G20 nations, Saudi Arabia achieved a remarkable feat by ranking second on the UN International Telecommunication Union's (ITU) 2024 ICT Regulatory Tracker assessment.
The accomplishment validates Saudi Arabia's outstanding advancements in technology and telecommunications legislation, the development of innovative rules, the construction of state-of-the-art digital infrastructure, and the application of efficient market supervision systems. It also validates Saudi Arabia's position as a worldwide regulatory leader by showcasing its commitment to offering an alluring regulatory environment that encourages investment and speeds up the expansion of the digital economy.
The index evaluates the maturity of ICT regulatory frameworks in 194 countries with the goal of assisting regulatory bodies and decision-makers in staying up to date with changes in the crucial industry. The regulatory authority, regulatory mandates, regulatory regime, and competition framework are the four key foundations that support its 50 criteria.
