The Swiss-based International Institute for Management Development (IMD) publishes an annual assessment on country competitiveness called the Yearbook. The yearbook uses 340 criteria that measure various aspects of competitiveness to benchmark the performance of 63 countries.
King Salman, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman have consistently supported and guided the Kingdom's cybersecurity industry, which is reflected in this top rating. Saudi Arabia has consistently risen to the top of most international metrics thanks to its ambition. In the Global Cybersecurity Index 2024, which was released by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), a specialized body of the United Nations, the Kingdom was categorized as Tier 1—"Role-modeling."
It is important to highlight that the NCA is the national authority for cybersecurity affairs and the Kingdom's chief cybersecurity authority. To safeguard the nation's critical interests, infrastructure, and national security, it seeks to improve cybersecurity.
Its duties include promoting innovation and investment in the cybersecurity industry, fostering its expansion in the Kingdom, and creating cybersecurity-related policies, governance structures, frameworks, standards, regulations, and guidelines. This is to provide a safe and dependable Saudi online environment that promotes development and success.
