To raise service standards across Saudi Arabia’s tourism industry, the ministry has mandated that any belongings left behind by guests must be reported to them immediately and preserved securely for a period of 30 days.
The regulation covers all hospitality establishments, including hotels and resorts. From now on, these entities are accountable for items discovered after guests check out. Once an item is identified, the guest must be contacted without delay through phone or other available means, and the item must be safely stored for the designated timeframe.
