Saudi Arabia ranked first globally for growth in international tourism receipts in the first quarter of 2025, according to the Quality of Life Program 2025 Annual Report. The report said the program contributed SR78 billion to the Kingdom's GDP, created 387,000 jobs, generated SR21.8 billion in non-government investment, and increased the local content ratio to 44%, exceeding its 37% target.
The report highlighted strong tourism growth, with over 32 million visitors during the summer season, a 26% increase, and tourism spending exceeding SR53.2 billion. International arrivals rose 102%, ranking Saudi Arabia third globally and second in the Middle East for growth. The report also noted the launch of the Global Quality of Life Index and revealed that 85% of citizens were satisfied with municipal services, surpassing the program's target.
The report also highlighted achievements in urban development, culture, and entertainment, including the launch of the Saudi Architecture Map featuring 19 architectural styles, over 19,000 investment opportunities through the Foras platform, expansion to 954 licensed entertainment venues, support for startups and businesses, and the opening of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Global Center for Arabic Calligraphy in Madinah and the Red Sea Museum in Historic Jeddah.
Saudi Arabia also recorded notable progress in culture and sports, with 6,314 cultural event days, 232 heritage sites open to the public, 59.1% adult participation in physical activity, and a new 911 Unified Security Operations Center launched in Madinah.
