Saudi Arabia has marked a major global achievement by securing second place worldwide in the World Bank’s 2025 GovTech Maturity Index (GTMI), which assessed 197 economies. The findings were unveiled during a press conference held in Washington on Thursday.
The report ranked the Kingdom among the “very advanced” countries, awarding it an overall score of 99.64 percent after strong performance across all evaluation areas. The assessment measured digital infrastructure, core government systems, digital public services and citizen engagement, with Saudi Arabia recording some of the highest results globally.
According to the 2025 GTMI, the Kingdom scored 99.92 percent in the Core Government Systems Index, 99.90 percent in the Public Service Digitalization Index, 99.30 percent in the Digital Citizen Engagement Index and 99.50 percent in the GovTech Enablers Index. These results earned Saudi Arabia an “A” rating, underscoring the depth and maturity of its digital government ecosystem.
