Saudi Arabia tightens security during Hajj with cameras and AI drones

Security measures has been strengthened in Saudi Arabia for the Hajj pilgrimage. At each Mecca border gate, cameras and AI drones have been installed. Anyone caught entering Mecca without a Hajj permit will be arrested, as would anyone who assists them. Indians are among the many persons of different nationalities who have already been taken into custody.

If a lot of individuals come in illegally, there would not be any facilities to house them. Without tents or other means of conveyance, they will be forced to endure the extreme heat. According to the security department, both foreigners and locals must follow the law, and those who do not would face harsh consequences.

A fine of 100,000 riyals and a 10-year ban from entering Mecca are imposed on those who help violators enter and remain there. If someone tries to do the Hajj without a permit, they will be fined 20,000 riyals.
