Saudi Arabia's average internet speed increased to 216 Mbps in 2025, up from 203 Mbps a year earlier, placing the Kingdom among the top five G20 countries for internet speed, according to the Communications, Space and Technology Commission's (CST) Saudi Internet 2025 report.
Key highlights from the report include:
Average monthly mobile data usage: 53 GB per person, nearly three times the global average.
Median 5G download speed: 320 Mbps, with 24 ms latency.
Fixed broadband download speed: Increased to 151 Mbps from 120.4 Mbps in 2024, with 73 Mbps upload speed and 8 ms latency.
Total internet traffic: 69 million terabytes, with 56% domestic and 44% international traffic. Mobile and fixed networks each accounted for 50% of total traffic.
Riyadh generated the largest share of internet traffic (30.6%), followed by Makkah (20.5%) and the Eastern Province (16.8%).
IPv6 adoption reached 67%, while Saudi Arabia's Autonomous System Numbers (ASNs) neared 200, reflecting continued growth in digital infrastructure.
The report comes after Saudi Arabia ranked first globally in the 2026 ITU Information and Communication Technology Development Index, outperforming 159 economies worldwide.
