Sudden braking on Saudi roads to cost drivers 500 Riyals

According to the Traffic Department, driving on Saudi roadways and making an unwarranted, abrupt halt (also known as sudden braking) will result in a 500 riyal penalty. 

This is a legal traffic infraction that carries penalties as per the Traffic Directorate. When a car stops abruptly, it can put other cars in danger. 

This practice is dangerous and may result in mishaps. A fine of 300 to 500 riyals would be imposed for breaking this restriction, according to the directorate.
