Dara Khosrowshahi, the CEO of Uber, declared on Tuesday that the business intends to introduce autonomous cars in Saudi Arabia this year. He said that in order to provide the technology to the local market, Uber is presently in talks with various ministries in the Kingdom as well as partners in the autonomous driving space.
With more than 4 million active riders and more than 140,000 Saudi drivers, he said Saudi Arabia is one of Uber's fastest-growing regions.
He disclosed that Uber is providing first- and last-mile links to the metro system at a reduced cost. He emphasized how crucial it is to combine Uber with public transportation in order to lessen the need for parking spaces and promote more efficient use of urban space.
