Unnecessary honking on Saudi roads may cost you up to 300 Riyals

Vehicles should refrain from honking unnecessarily on Saudi highways, according to the General Traffic Department. 

According to the department, horns should only be used in places where they are allowed. If someone is caught honking anyplace, they will be fined between 150 and 300 riyals.

Avoiding unexpected honking can help people drive safely, according to the department, which claims that excessive honking in urban areas contributes to noise pollution. 

Car horns should only be used for alerts.The department also cautions everyone to drive carefully by adhering to traffic and driving laws and regulations and refraining from honking in a way that annoys other drivers.
