Saudi Arabians could get to see Jupiter, on commencing Friday, October 17, 2025, between 12 and 2 a.m. The gas giant is expected to be visible in the eastern sky until shortly before daybreak, Mecca time, according to the Jeddah Astronomical Society.
The planetary spectacle will be particularly remarkable for those with optical aids. "The four largest moons of Jupiter—Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto—will be visible through binoculars or small telescopes as tiny points of light aligned with the planet,"
With clear skies predicted over most of the Kingdom in the second half of October, astronomy enthusiasts are urged to take advantage of the best viewing conditions.
