Vehicles registered in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries will not be allowed to remain in Saudi Arabia for more than 90 days within any 365-day period, whether consecutive or non-consecutive. The period will be calculated from the date of entry through any Saudi customs port.
The regulations, approved by the Saudi Council of Ministers, aim to regulate the use of GCC-registered vehicles and reduce violations linked to prolonged stays without registration. They apply to vehicles owned by Saudi citizens or expatriates, as well as authorised drivers, excluding cars rented from licensed GCC companies.
Owners or authorised drivers may apply to the Ministry of Interior for an extension before the permitted period expires. The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority will provide vehicle data for enforcement, and overstaying vehicles will face penalties under the Traffic Law.
