The World of Dates fair in Riyadh is drawing large crowds, turning the King Saud University campus—where it began on the 25th of last month—into a vibrant hub for showcasing and selling Saudi dates and date-based products. Farmers and traders from regions such as Riyadh, Al Qassim, Madinah, Hail, Al Jawf, and Al Ahsa are participating, offering visitors a chance to taste and purchase a wide range of dates, including Ajwa, Sukkari, Mabroom, Sari, Rabia, Amber, Majhul, Safawi, and Al-Qalas.
Beyond date shopping, the festival gives visitors a taste of Saudi Arabia’s rich culinary and cultural traditions. Stalls feature local specialties like Arabian gahwa, date syrups, baked goods, Milaf cola, and Khilja biscuits. The event also hosts live cultural performances such as Arda and Duff, poetry sessions, stage shows, and live painting stations. Families can enjoy children’s activities, workshops, and seminars, making the fair a lively cultural attraction. Many visitors, including Malayalis, are attending the event.
