The Expo 2030 Riyadh Registration Dossier has received final clearance from the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) General Assembly in Paris, formally confirming Saudi Arabia as the host nation for the international exhibition. The BIE also gave the Kingdom's delegation the World Expo banner during Tuesday's ceremony.
Senior officials and Ambassador Fahd Al-Ruwaili were part of the Saudi delegation, which was led by Eng. Ibrahim Al-Sultan, Minister of State and Acting CEO of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC).
The report describes Saudi Arabia's strategic plan to host a World Expo that will revolutionize the country and meet its expectations both domestically and internationally.
Saudi Arabia completed and submitted a Registration Dossier about half as quickly as is usually necessary, which allowed them to go on to the next stage of formal preparations. This involves sending formal invitations through diplomatic channels to participating countries.
From October 1, 2030, to March 31, 2031, Expo 2030 Riyadh will be held on a 6 million square meter site that can accommodate over 40 million visitors. More than 195 countries are anticipated to participate, and the venue will provide world-class hospitality, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and immersive experiences for viewers worldwide.
